I realized is every single bad thing you've read about social media is true. The fake news, the trolls, the uninformed outrage, the bubbles, the "being the product, not the customer," is all real, so I disconnected from it and I feel fine.

Last November I changed my Facebook password to a long string of random characters and vowed to not login for at least a month. The first month I had withdrawals. The second and third month I wanted to take just one hit... I recently did a cold-turkey disconnect from Twitter too.

This is the obligitory post about my experience of quitting social media. I don't miss the nonsense one bit. This blog may not get much traffic but I suppose that's the price to keep far from the madding crowd.
